IMMERSION TO ILLUMINATION

Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris

Paris hosted a renowned decor exhibition Maison & Objet (MO19) dedicated to up-to-
date solutions in the field of design and interior decoration. Here, Favourite’s designers found a
lot of interesting ideas materialized in our 2019 models.
Since the first Maison & Objet event organized in the French capital in 1995, it has
grown into a celebrated and world-renowned venue, where furniture and decor designers show
all their most beautiful and ultra-fashionable creations. The exhibition takes place twice a year,
in September and in January. This time Maison & Objet could boast over 3,000 participants from
different countries. The number of visitors exceeded 150,000.
The main trends — a vivid coral color, tints of spices, such as curry, turmeric, mustard,
and saffron — were obvious favorites of Maison & Objet 2019 as well. Smooth lines and
rounded forms abounded (this trend also dominated in AmericasMart exhibition). Fringe was
everywhere — on curtains, lamps, hammocks, and upholstery edges. The interior was sustained
in the mid-century modern style. The materials included marble, brass and copper.
Metal leg furniture, toned glass, and terrazzo tiles. Rattan furniture, all sorts of
wickerwork, open-work lampshades, reed screens, and woven headboards. The tropical style
itself recedes into the background, the floral decor is now less frequently seen in tiles and
wallpapers. The furniture is decorated with velvet and textured boucle wool. Incidentally,
designers call boucle a rather novel but trending feature. Such furniture looks very cozy, slightly
vintage and distinguished.
